One of the busiest commuter routes through the UK’s capital city is stunningly recreated for Train Simulator in this new route add-on.

The North London Line spans approximately 17 miles between Richmond and Stratford, and is today part of the London Overground network. The line is a heavy commuter route with trains every 15 minutes, and also a key corridor for freight traffic, connecting the inner suburbs north of London. Despite the line’s short length, the route is almost entirely dense inter-urban railway, with trains taking more than one hour to traverse the route when calling at all 23 stations.

Built over a total of 25 years in five connecting sections, the first portion of the line was opened as the Eastern Counties and Thames Junction Railway in 1846 between Stratford and North Woolwich, with the last portion opening in 1869 between South Acton and Richmond by the London & South Western Railway.

The 1980s started to see closures across the line, the most notable being the closure of Broad Street station, a once major terminus for the City of London that became a dwindling station with very few passengers. Other notable closures on the line included the Tottenham Hale to Stratford link, and more recently the section between Stratford and North Woolwich in 2006. Where that track once stood is now used by the Docklands Light Railway and will also become part of the Crossrail branch to Abbey Wood in 2018.

The line is electrified mostly with 25kV AC overhead catenary between Stratford and Acton Central, made so that dual voltage Class 313s could use the line and also open it up to electric freight locomotives. The section between Acton Central and Richmond sees third rail power, and between Gunnersbury and Richmond there is also a fourth rail as the London Overground and District Line shares this stretch of the network.

Today the line is populated by Class 378/2 ‘Capitalstars’ forming the London Overground services, D78 Tube Stock for District Line services between Richmond and Gunnersbury, and Class 66s, 70s, 90s and 92s hauling freight.

The North London Line for Train Simulator recreates the 17 mile route as it operates today between Richmond in the South West of London and Stratford in the North East, with the track curving in a rough semicircle shape to avoid the centre of London. The route includes standard British LED signalling throughout and the modern TfL Class 378 ‘Capitalstar’.

    Although after getting the route, I ran into a lot of problems with the Class 378, but thanks to the community, I have managed to sort this out easily.
    With that fixed, the route is amazing, highly detailed in scenery and lots of speed changes to keep you going (there is even a power change!). The route may seem expensive, yes it's 17 miles and yes you only get 1 train. However, I feel a lot has gone into this route and therefore it is worth the money if this is your kind of route,

    The scenarios included aren't really exciting, very few AI trains and the usual stopping passenger services. Fortunately, this should be replaced by workshop scenarios, where I have already seen some great ones.

    Overall, I would highly recommend this route to those interested. There are lots of stations to call at and the route is going right into the heart of London, so for those who like to go fast, don't be surprised if you can't!. Everytime I try and load it up, it either pops up with a box saying: failed to load QD scenario or, a box saying i'm missing the 378.... I like this route and have had none of the problems outlined by others, however I still have issues with it.
    Any scenario that requires a stop at Caledonian Road and Barnsbury fails and here's why.
    When you make the stop and open the doors there is no red timer bar showing in the HUD, as this is a scoring stop, no points are given for making it. Thus at the end you get a scenario failed notice telling you that you failed to stop. So I tried the scenario again, and got the same result.
    So I tried another scenario, it also required a stop at the same station, again no red timer bar and thus no points etc.

    Then there is the class 59 and its scenarios, and they are rubbish with absolutely no redeeming qualities. So I looked in the workshop for further scenarios, and there are seemingly none; however since the search function in workshop is less use than a chocolate teapot, there might be dozens, but I couldn't find them.

    Then there's the issue of the AI or lack of it, even in the scenarios set at rush hour, the AI trains are few and far between.

    So, a seemingly neat route with lots of possibilities that are poorly exploited and what is there suffers from the ever occurring DTGitis, which is of course a full time aversion to doing something properly. No matter what route, there is always something amiss.

    Oh, and I did the local file check, uninstalled the route and the re-installed it, again a file check and it's still the bloody same.

    There is no excuse other than appalling QC and a don't give a toss attitude.

    For the record, I run the game with all settings set to maximum and have excellent frame rate; so these issues are not hardware related.

    As with most folks, I want my purchases to make me happy, I do not want them to be an object lesson in frustration and disappointment as so many of the DTG routes seem to be.
    . I actually bought this route after the class 378 is fixed. This route is packed with detailed scenery and stations and comes with a updated Class 378 with two versions of it. One is 4 car and a 5 car varient which will say "5 Car Train".

    There are certain parts of the scenarios that the game won't document the time when you arrive at some stations and the second time it will, which is my main concern that it can give me late penalties. I didn't had to clear the cache or tick the box so I didn't believe that its broken by the first time I had tried it. Since this route is at the capital in the UK, there can be a lack of traffic in some scenarios.

    Overall good route and loco that I would give this 9\/10.. An eagerly anticipated route on my part and most likely by many others as well, and doesn't disappoint.

    Although at first the price seems a bit steep for what is essentially a fairly short route, the level of detail is excellent and in many parts is as close as you could expect to real life within the confines of the current game engine. The shortness in distance in somewhat made up for by the comparatively longer time it takes you to drive end to end, over an hour for around 17 miles, and the frequent stopping and constantly changing speed limits keep you on your toes. The route itself plays host to a wide range of traffic from freight to coaching stock movements, and of course the Overground service, as can already be seen by the variety in the Workshop scenarios, so generally something for everyone unless high speed express services are your thing.

    However, for the price I would have expected a bit more route, such as the branch down to Clapham Junction via Shepherd's Bush or the Gospel Oak to Barking line. One slight annoyance as well is what seems to me to be fairly long dwell times at stations for a service of this sort, and the lack of Driver Only Operation which I believe is used now on the Overground.

    Hopefully at some point there will be the opportunity for this to be merged with other routes such as the GEML or South London Network to give an even greater array of potential scenarios. With the Waggonz \/ Armstrong Powerhouse class 313 in development this has the potential to be a truly fantastic route.. this is very good buy the budndle

As the first diesel locomotives to be built at BR’s Darlington Works, the Class 24 was built as part of the British Rail Modernisation Plan in the late 1950s.

The Class 24 was a Sulzer Type 2, Bo-Bo diesel-electric locomotive built between 1958 and 1961, incorporating numerous elements such as off-the-shelf standardised components used for manufacture, including a Sulzer 6LDA28 diesel engine and a 735Kw British Thomson-Houston (BTH) electric transmission, producing a total of 1,160hp resulting in a top speed of 75mph (120km/h).

Built at BR’s Derby, Crewe and Darlington Works, Class 24s could be seen running services initially around Derby and Crewe, but eventually across the British Rail network hauling both passenger and freight. Fifteen of the original 20 locomotives were put into use on the Southern Region as the Kent Coast electrification scheme was behind schedule, and could also be spotted in the Eastern Region, London Midland Region, Wales and Lancashire.

Class 24s also took over Condor freight services from London to Glasgow, replacing Class 28s, and became the foundation for the later Class 25 model.

The first Class 24 to be withdrawn from service was D5051 in November 1967 and by 1979, all but three Class 24s had been withdrawn from service, 14 of which were scrapped before receiving a TOPS number. The final locomotive, 24081, was withdrawn in October 1980.

Today, only four of the Class have survived into preservation, D5032 and D5061 at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, D5054 at the East Lancashire Railway and 24081 at the Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway.

The BR Class 24 for Train Simulator recreates the locomotive as it operated for British Railways throughout the UK in the 1960s, and is available in British Railways corporate blue/grey livery. Also included are BR Mk1 coaches in corporate blue/grey livery and 40T YGH ‘Sealion’ ballast wagons.

The locomotive is also Quick Drive compatible, giving you the freedom to drive the BR Class 24 on any Quick Drive enabled route for Train Simulator, such as those available through Steam. Also included are scenarios specifically for the Weardale & Teesdale Network route (available separately and required to play these scenarios).

    Waited for this one to come on sale and snapped it up. Nice representation of this sluggish, chugging, unreliable beast - if a tad low res compared to the very best offerings out there. Exhaust is not very well done (but acceptable), and sounds OK. Fine for the sale price.

    If you're like me and you love the deisels, get this while it's on sale 9-99 today. A must have for the collection. Add the (kindly) free test color loco and Mk1s from dpsimulations, and you have a winner.. This is an excellent engine . Going back to BR in its day it was very much an unreliable machine, however theres no chance of any traction motor flashovers with the 24 on ts 2016. Externally its very good with great detailing of side grilling and front ends with operable disc lighting.The cab interia is very good with 360 degree view and instrument light dimmer. The lovely tones of that lovely class 24 engine have been well incorporated and roof and exhauster are spot on. This has been a well worked loco and I would recommend it to anyone who loves the early BR diesels such as this beautiful design.. Very gooooooooooood engine. Top of the pops for the classic diesel fan out there. The engines sounds good. the two tone horn works so you can have a high and low note. Good texturing nothing to critise apart from it should have come in br green to match the 25. Everything else is great. Top Marks DTG. I do not write too many reviews for the myriad DLC's for Train Simulator in general. However I felt this deserved one. I would first like to add I'm a pretty big fan of US rail but much less of the other nations. I'll admit this is a loco pack I got just for the achievements. If it would not have had any, I'd not have bought it. I'm sure glad I did!

    Let me just say it's a great locomotive! It feels very real. It definitely gives you the feel of the early diesel era. The gauge lights work. The designers even added gauages for both vaccum brakes and Westinghouse brakes. For those who do not know, this locomotive was used in the crossover period between two different braking systems. I liked that the detail was added for those gauages, even if it it would not affect the train in the game. The sounds are superb and the scenarios were realistic and fun.

    Positives:
    + Super realistic overall
    + Excellent sounds
    + Very good textures
    + Wipers, lights, instruments all work very well.
    + All scenarios work perfectly and give some variety.
    + Scenarios are on one of the best routes available to the game
    + All achievements work. This may not be important to some, but it is to me!
    + One of the few DLC's for this game that I actually believe would be worth the full asking price.

    Negatives:

    Game has some serious potential. But there is a serious lack of social places, and items. No real reason to play. Players of Playstation home should feel at home. But as of now, alot more work is need. Def worth following, and keeping an eye on. In a year or two time, this game could be something special.. need a lot of improvement...and gameplay needs more various kinds of things to do. Aggressive microtransactions, but even the core experience is not worth your time. I suggest checking out Tower Unite or VRChat instead.. Needs a lot of work. It really wasn't ready yet for everyone.. I.. Used to play Playstation Home, Don't get me wrong it was one of the best playstation games back in the day, it was like 1000 games in 1! millions of outfits, millions of games, minigames you had so much to do and bore and loneliness was not even a option. Until...2015 came in. The game got shut down and my heart for Playstation Died with it. I loved that game and millions did. The Re creation of this version is not good, and many will agree with me. Some people will find it ok and im fine with that, But if you played Playstation home back in the day and you want it back? You will know that the True Playstation Home is gone and that if there was a reborn version I bet over 10 millions copies will be out in 1 month. Our beloved game is gone and a Re creation will never revive our memories. If I had a company I would bring it back, and I know you would do the same. . Tunche DevBlog: The Story of Mapinguari:



Hello, everyone!
Starting today we will be posting interesting stories, development secrets and many more things that usually stay hidden from you, our players. As an indie game publisher we deeply care about the message our developent teams want to deliver to their audience. That's why we are willing to take another step forward and start this series of blog entries.

In this DevBlog entry we will tell you about Tunche's second boss — Mapinguari.His sprites are still a work in progress, so we’ve decided to share with you how he is portrayed in legends. Hopefully this entry will give you a better understanding of how scary and gruesome he is!




Many cryptozoologists believe that Mapinguari is based off of a prehistoric creature named Megatherium. It essentially was a grandfather to a present day sloth, but was much larger in size. Actually, it was one of the largest mammals to roam the Earth! The fossilized remains of Megatheriums were found all over South America. Including Peru, the homeland of Leap Game Studios!

But being only a giant sloth isn’t enough to become a scary monster. As described in folklore, Mapinguari has one eye, a huge mouth with sharp teeth on his belly, and incredibly long claws. He also exudes a stench so putrid, it can make you dizzy and knock you out, and can even change day into night!

Traditional depictions of Mapinguari can somewhat resemble a North American Bigfoot. But unlike him, Mapinguari doesn’t flee from humans on sight. It’s very much the opposite — he actively tries to hunt down humans, who hurt the rainforest and its inhabitants, or break the jungle’s unspoken rules.

Artists of Tunche had to refrain from closely following monster’s traditional looks, to fit Mapinguari into the game’s design. But they are working their hardest to make him as fearsome as in Amazonian legends and be worthy of his real counterpart!

    This game is TRASH!. Great game. I just wish there were more campaign levels like the non-VR game.. great game fantastic design , some areas of level 2 need abit of work (like the constant streem of zombies when ya bro tries givin you the shotgun, needs to also be more ammo as theres not enough to last that part of the mission... otherwise fantastic game and looking forward to seeing the completed game :P. played only 11 mins but ..... Great game. I just wish there were more campaign levels like the non-VR game.. the game is great, awesome graphics and intense play.
    hope the developers will keep on the good work and make it more and more interesting with new stages and maps for multiplayer !

    2019 Devblog #2:

    This week I’ve been working on a final script for the next mission, which I am happy to report is 95% complete! I’ve also been back working in the level for mission 3, tidying up and working on final lighting and gameplay support areas, ensuring navigation is solid. I’ve also decided on a winter setting, while it doesn’t fully look like it yet, I’ve added in falling snow particles, and will be next doing a texture update to give the outdoors areas a bit of snow coverage.





    I’ve also been going over the results of our public poll regarding free roam, and working with Alex on solidifying a design on that front moving forward. To see the results of that poll check out the bottom of this blog post.

    While we will not be releasing a public update this week, next week our goal is to do so with much of what we’re all talking about in this weeks blog. Before then, I’ll be rebalancing all of the weapons and zombies in the game now that Paul is finishing up the new knock-down logic which he’ll be talking about in his blog, stay tuned!

    The major thing this week has been the reworking of the existing tutorial tooltip stuff in aid of releasing the game on other platforms that have requirements on what headset/controllers can be shown in-game. We now have an in-game system to globally set what VR Environment we're building a package for and anything in the game (ie the tooltip system) can check that and display appropriate stuff. Not super exciting, but something that should hopefully pay off when we're ready to release on other platforms.

    I've also set up a slightly different (read: better!) system in the firearms as per Brian's specification that uses a single shot, multishot (ie rapid fire) and ending sound, arranged dynamically depending on how fast you pull the trigger, or if you're shooting a full auto gun.

    This week I have been reworking sounds for all our remaining stockpile of guns so we can hopefully very soon get some new boomsticks in the game for you all to enjoy. Some of the existing weapon sounds that didn't fit or weren't all they could be have either been reworked, or replaced with better SFX to increase player satisfaction. As well as this, I have gone through some of the upcoming Free Roam maps and started building up the WWISE setup in the level, and building ambiences to make the levels feel real

    This week I have been focused on setting up the framework we need for scripting the AI of the new missions, and in doing so found a way to substantially improve the responsiveness of the zombies to gaining and losing targets while at the same time saving performance. Also I put in a fix for the bug of dropping magazines on vive, finally caught that one. Been working on the sticky grips issue too, fingers crossed can get a fix in for that one to you all next week. Lastly, the save system we put into place last week seems to be solid too, which is nice!

    This week I have been reworking the animation side of the zombies to allow them to do what we need for the upcoming missions. They can now not only be cut down by removing the legs, but also I have put into place a critical-hit or custom event driven knockdown framework so zombies can be disabled for a more lengthy amount of time. Combined with tougher zombies, this will allow a more “horror-ey” experience due to the increased perceived strength of the enemies relative to the player.

    This week I’ve been doing a bit of research before I get started constructing the world for mission 4. It’s amazing how much progress the entire team has been making of late, and we’re all feeling very optimistic about the future of the game! Mission 3 is well underway, speaking of which Paul has really been putting in crazy hours to get ahead of himself so much so that we decided to give him the day off today!

    I’ve done a bit more optimizing of the project, tracking down 2k and 4k textures and downscaling them as much as possible. I’ve also started redesigning the main menu level and how in a future update it will be implemented in the game that better positions us for our upcoming Playstation VR release. Sorry no media from me this time around, next week I guarantee, see you then!

    Since the last update I have been working on reworking the underpinnings of free roam. We have settled on a design and now we're implementing it! So far it's pretty basic but it should be a good foundation to add all manner of bells and whistles in the near future. Along with that, there's been lots of little bug fixes across the board (most of which are not really user-facing for the most part, so not very sexy to write about here)
    A sneak peek into the next mission though! Or, at least, a weapon you will get to use..

    I spent this week focusing on improved Audio quality of our current weapons of which many you have yet to see. I also applied unique haptic curve feedback for each individual weapon so you can get the most out of your gun play. I am also working on applying haptics and unique audio to the mechanics of the weapon as well from magazine interaction to fire select. It is our goal to make all our Melee and Firearms as enjoyable as possible. Also I scaled images for our Oculus Store……………….

    This 168.3-hour chunk of our planet’s orbit (apparently we use “this week” too much) I have been preparing our game for shipping on a whole variety of platforms! I have the PS4 dev kit set up and just waiting for a few things from Sony and Epic and then I’ll be starting work on the long-awaited PSVR release! We have already submitted the Oculus build which is pending approval, and are very close to the Viveport submission. Things are moving fast around here!

    I spent my time assembling new core mechanics for the upcoming mission. Unfortunately I can’t really speak about specifics of these things because we want to keep it a secret until it’s closer to release! That said, I’m happy to report that new mission is looks promising and provides a fresh perspective to the game and is already halfway there. If no further delays occur, Mission3 should hit test builds early next month and public build not long after!

    Demo update:

    In this latest update, we had some time to put back into the demo version. We want the demo to reflect the full game in all of its essence. Along with optimizations and new weapons, we have only included the first mission for the Demo. You will now see that the demo is now slightly extended.

    The team is very committed to ensuring a very comfortable playthrough, and as such we added several features from the full version to the demo. Grab assist as we have named it, is now available to use for those hard to reach items. All you have to do is point your controller at the item and once the item glows blue, press the grab button.

    Included in this update is our newest checkpoint save system. Make sure to fill up on your ammo and supplies as you hit checkpoints. If things get too intense, try taking off your HMD for our new pause feature. That’s right, you can now pause by taking off your headgear.

    You may notice some changes in the audio as well. This update was overdue, and we have now pushed majority of our audio to Wwise. The game is still in early access, and we will continue to improve on the game. Please leave us any requests or suggestions on forums or Discord where we are most active!

    In other news, we have recently been accepted into Viveport and the Oculus store. We are one step closer to PSVR launch. Currently, we are looking to get as much gear as possible to the rest of our team. It does help if every member of the team has access to the different VR sets. The process to getting to PSVR will still take some time, and we do hope you guys are as hyped as we are. We will have a playtest application for PSVR users at some point so keep an eye out for that!


    Mission 3:

    We are already cracking away, still some time until we can push this out. This map will be different than the other missions. My recommendation is that you take your time in this next one. You might even get lost, so be sure to remember your way as much as you can. On a final note on Mission 3, keep and eye out for clues. And when you hear the footsteps… Hide…

    We’re getting really close to being able to wrap up mission 2, the whole of scripting is completed and now it’s time for balancing. Also we’ll be making sure all the dialogue is locked in so we can get some professional voice actors to record and replace the existing dialogue with new. I’ve been talking with some members of the team about some of the next mission (mission 3) and making sure we can hit the ground running as soon as Vacancy is released. Our goal is to be able to release mission 3 in significantly less time than it took for mission 2. No screenshots from me this week as we hope to have Vacancy out to the public before long, stay tuned!

    My last few weeks were mainly focused on polishing up Vacancy Day 1 and putting together a turn-over for Lawrence. I’ve also added a few little easter eggs and cleaned up random code.


    It’s been a pleasure working on this project and also interacting with the community. I wish the team and the project great success. While no game will be able to satisfy every single player out there, I hope that the majority will enjoy the final project. I very much look forward to it!

    I was out of town the week leading up to this week, and most of this last week has been dedicated to some behind the scenes businessy stuff. But! I have been working on some art for the molotov cocktail and doing some light research into the best way to simulate the liquid inside without breaking all the budgets.



    I’m also taking some time to finally learn Substance Painter so i can finally ditch (or at least expand past) my old photoshop/xnormal workflow. Looking forward to the time savings when I get up to speed with Painter.

    This week I have been going full-out designing the audio for Vacancy, the map is huge and is therefore a lot of work to keep it sounding not only real, but also varied as you traverse around it. I have also added new sound events that are being implemented into our thrown weaponry, which many of you have noticed was a bit rough around the edges in places. All this, as well as resolving a few bugs we’ve had with WWISE.

    This week we have been fleshing out the existing framework of the Vacancy: Day level and iterating on our existing level scripting to make this level all that it can be, and adding animations to our characters. Most notable is the new system put in place so zombies can treat other AI as players too, which was most definitely needed for some of the challenges you will soon face!

    Greetings and salutations! Progress on Vacancy is moving right along, with some new and exciting additions coming into play which Alex will likely talk about in his update regarding a new pump action shotgun. The riot boss zombie is in, and packs a wallop if you aren’t careful to stay out of his way! Having completed an initial balance pass and gameplay review of his current state, we are well on our way to finish him off and get him released along with mission 2 very very soon!

    Better late than never! The pump shotguns are confirmed in for the mission 2 update, working even better than they did in the demo. There's still some polish left to do, but overall they're feeling very fun to use. In the process of getting the pump action off the ground, I also fixed some long standing weirdness with the way the automatic shotgun was behaving; you no longer have to have the bolt fully retracted to add ammo, and the bolt itself is now properly springy, behaving much more closer to its real life counterpart. There are still some lingering bugs with the ammo system with-regard-to grabbing ammo from the belt (not due to the new weapon features, it’s just extra visible now that we're using it this way) but the shotguns are otherwise in pretty great shape.

    I also tracked down and fixed a bug related to a new keypad door locking mechanic (it was expecting the wrong password due to a race condition) that had been giving us some issue for the past few weeks.

    Also, I recorded this while getting the shotgun footage. Can't confirm or deny that boxing zombies is in the game, but you can punch targets in my test map...

    This week I have been working on the dialog audio for the new mission, optimising audio thread usage by taking advantage of some of the new features of WWISE, as well as working with Lawrence to get to the bottom of the audio crashes that were pushing back release of the new content.

    This week we have been getting the vacancy l2 level ready for testers, hooking up dialogues and getting scripting locked down for the encounters in the mission. It's going to be action-packed for sure, hopefully it won’t be too punishing for the test team ;)
    Also we got to the bottom of the audio crashes that were hampering development with the creation of a far easier to use and more robust dialog scripting tool.

    Hello again! This week the entire team has been working extra hard as we head down the final stretch of getting mission 2 launched. We’ve completed scripting start to finish, and have been cranking away on polish and of course bug fixing. I’ve also been doing some final art passes as well as adding some special effects. Balancing has been ongoing but I’m happy to say I feel it’s nearly where it needs to be so it offers a serious challenge to players of all skill levels (I hope!). Dialogue has been locked down and we’re going to be sending it off to professional voice actors soon, if all goes well we intend on having mission 2 out before Christmas!

    We’re pretty far along with Vacancy, so my task this week was to replace the temporary character models with the ones we plan on using for release. Definitely makes the game feel a little more complete! Lots of fiddling importing and tweaking of models/textures.

    On top of that, we wanted to add a new feature to the game: the exploding barrel propane tank! Pretty simple, does what it says on the tin. You shoot it enough, it explodes. You can also throw them...as they catch fire. Good luck and godspeed.

    This week we have been crunching getting vacancy (mission 2) to a release-ready state. So many bugs fixed, so much tightening up of all the events, adding new functionality to our tools to allow us to better get this level to be what it can with the release date drawing ever closer. We are also drawing on feedback from testers, and are getting aspects of the gameplay more dialled in.

    We are particularly happy with the second phase of the new content, it’s turning into a really enjoyable rampage through the apocalypse.
    . Update 5 - Mission 2 Live!:
    Greetings! First off we want to wish everyone an early Merry Christmas and a happy holidays! Thank you all for being so patient while waiting for the next major update which we are happy to announce is coming out… NOW!



    First off, we would like to officially announce that we have promoted Lawrence to lead programmer on the project. Lawrence is moving up the ranks to fill in for Victor who decided he wanted to take a break and work on his own project. While we are always sorry to see someone leave the team, we are already seeing Lawrence step up and prove he’s not just able to fill those shoes but making huge strides which means good things are coming!

    When we first started working on Outbreak, we had set a very high bar for ourselves and the game, but with the realization that we are a small team of just 6 full time developers, we have made the decision to down scope some of the previously planned features. While we expect there to be some disappointed faces out there, we believe this decision will allow us to deliver a much better, less buggy, and more satisfying game to you, our amazing supporters.

    Without a doubt you are wondering what will be getting shelved. First before we get to that, we want to make it very clear that nothing is for certain being permanently shelved, but instead put on hold for the short term until such time that it is feasible to resume working on them again. That said, the following will be put on hold until such time as the core aspects of the game are less buggy, and we have more playable missions delivered.

    The following are being set aside for the time being while we focus on bug fixing, and new playable missions.

    In the near future, we will be re-releasing an updated version of our public roadmap that reflects the shifting of priorities amongst the team, and how that will positively impact the overall quality and increase the amount of playable content in the game. Rest assured that those who have been patiently awaiting news about a Playstation 4 version of the game, we will also be able to inform you on the happenings therin, stay tuned!

    Regarding the save load system, the current implementation has had more than its share of problems, so much in fact that it’s been slowing progress in other areas of the game and thus we decided unanimously amongst the team to scrap the current one and start a new, less complex iteration. No longer will players need to manually choose when to save by using candles, instead the new system will be checkpoints that are saved automatically at key points of the campaign. The difference with this new checkpoint system once implemented, will be that you will no longer be able to manually load up a save point in a level, however this brings us to our next important change to the game which is also now live in this update, which is our revised and upgraded menu.

    Players can now from the main menu room, load into individual portions of each single player campaign. For example, if you want to start playing from the moment you enter the apartment in mission 1 and bypass the starting garage and lobby you can do so! Or if you want to play through the city portion of Outbreak, you can do so directly from the main menu level! We felt this change was necessary in order to compensate for removing the save load system, and starting a new one. This change is live effective immediately, enjoy!



    Now for the really good stuff! We are proud to present to you, mission 2 which is simply called Vacancy. Without giving too much away, mission 2 takes place in a familiar area to anyone whos actually played multiplayer on the map called Dustbowl. Vacancy uses this location to tell it’s story of what happened, before things went so horribly wrong. We’re proud of the work we put into this mission, and hope you enjoy playing it as much as we have enjoyed working on it!



    Also included in this update is the addition of a new zombie archetype simply called the runner. Runners are exactly what the name implies, if they spot you, they charge at you much faster than other zombies. They also have the ability to navigate in ways that make them more nimble and able to vault over obstacles instead of needing to run around them. If you see one, we recommend you deal with it swiftly as you won’t be outrunning them we assure you!



    For everyone who has supported us by purchasing the game, taken the time to leave us a review, or given feedback about how we’re doing, we want to give you a big shout out and say thanks! It really does make all the difference in the world for us to constantly be getting fresh points of view about the game, it really does.
